Yograj Singh challenges Vaibhav Suryavanshi after IPL 2025 success

The Indian Premier League 2025 season produced numerous uncapped Indian cricketers performing well for their respective franchises. Right from Priyansh Arya, Ayush Mhatre to Vaibhav Suryavanshi, these young batters came out all guns blazing in IPL 2025.

Notably, Vaibhav went on to create the record for the fastest IPL century by an Indian in terms of balls faced (35 balls) as he smacked 101 runs off 38 balls with seven fours and 11 sixes against the Gujarat Titans. Now, he would be seen playing against England U19 for the Indian U19 team.

Former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh, who is also the father of the former Indian all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh, stated that the current crop of young cricketers needs to work on their fitness and would be ready to survive for five days. Later, he also took a dig at a few coaches who want to get things done, sitting under AC.

"My vision is Test cricket. Can you survive five days? That's the real test.  50 overs - fair enough. 20 overs - fair enough. I don't go by these formats. But since they (formats) are there, you should be fit enough to play all three formats. Why do you struggle? Because you are only concentrating on T20, IPL and 50 overs. Aj toh 50 overs bhi nahi khel sakte hum log (Today, we cannot even play 50 overs). That's the way we are," Yograj told InsideSport.

"All the coaches and all the administrators want to sit in the air conditioning and do things. Here, I am under 48 degrees Celsius, having a passion to produce more brilliant cricketers like Yuvraj Singh," he added.

Speaking about Suryavanshi’s IPL 2025 stats, he scored 252 runs from seven innings at an average of 36 and a strike rate of 206.55. India U19 team will take on England U19 in a five-match Youth One Day Series and two Multi-Day Youth Games, starting on June 24.
