On 27 April 2023, Rajasthan Royals (RR) locked horns with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing IPL. The match took place at Jaipur and RR did not disappoint their home fans as they registered a 32 runs win over MS Dhoni and his men. In the reverse fixture also, RR defeated CSK at Chepauk.

So, they completed a double over CSK in this ongoing edition of the tournament. After such a  convincing win, fans lauded Sanju Samson for his captaincy. They claimed that it is not easy for anyone to defeat a captain like MS Dhoni twice in the same tournament. So, they shared their views on social media.

Sanju Samson has been known as a sold batter for Team India and franchises over the years. But, as a skipper, he has shown great composure in the last few seasons. In IPL 2022. Samson led RR to the final. Then, in this ongoing season, RR are currently at the top with 10 points in eight games. Sanju has led his franchise to five victories so far. However, after the second win over CSK, Samson looked elated and shared his views during the post-match presentation.

Samson said: "This is a win the team and dugout really wanted. The way youngsters Jaiswal, Devdutt, Jurel batted was outstanding, the mindset of attack, attack and attack is something we will keep promoting in the dressing room. Credit goes to the team management and support staff who work very hard at the academy. Lot of work has gone behind his success. Proud of the way he's playing." Speaking of his form as a batter, he has scored 198 runs in eight matches, at an average of 24.75. Now, Sanju Samson will be in action again against Mumbai Indians (MI) on 30 April at Wankhede Stadium.
