On 13 May 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) took on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing IPL. However, SRH failed to win the game as LSG defeated them by seven wickets. Thus, LSG did a double over them this season. Speaking of the match, SRH batted first and a controversy happened during the 19th over. Despite the on-field umpire giving a no-ball on the third delivery of that over, LSG reviewed it and overturned the decision.

Hence, SRH fans were not happy and for some time, the game got paused also. Later, Cricbuzz reported that some fans threw nuts and bolts at the LSG dugout. Hence, Match officials were forced to pause the game while police also came to control the whole situation. But, now an image has gone viral on social media where the LSG head coach, Andy Flower was seen with a middle finger gesture to the umpire.

It seemed that the image has been taken during that chaos and fans were not happy to see a former cricketer with such a gesture. Speaking of the match, SRH batted first and scored 182 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. In reply, LSG chased down the target in 19.2 overs with seven wickets to spare. Prerak Mankad won the Player of the Match award for scoring 64* runs off 45 balls, including seven fours and two sixes.

During the post-match presentation, Mankad said: "It was the most important game. Score doesn't matter to me. I wasn't happy when I reached 50 because I couldn't connect well. After that I was able to. I was trying to hit against the spinners and couldn't connect. I have played against Mayank in the domestic circuit and I knew he would try to get me out. So I took my chance. I thank the management for the opportunity. I have played a few innings in the top four. so I know how to play and I just backed my ability. Stoinis gave me some wise advice at the end and it helped me."
