The Indian fans will breathe easy as Rishabh Pant could be back in the Indian Test team for the home series against England. The 5-Test match series will happen in India in January 2024. This is as per reports coming in. Pant last played a Test series against Bangladesh for India before going through a near-fatal car accident. It was a hard time for the India wicketkeeper-batter.

As per a report on Sports Today Pant would be in line to feature in that series. The report further went on to say that he will be a part of the Indian Premier League in 2024. After undergoing surgeries on his knee, Pant would soon start batting practice as per reports. Pant has now started walking the reports said. Recently there were videos of Pant doing gym work and also of him climbing the stairs which created a storm on social media.

Rishabh Pant has scored 2271 Test runs for India

Pant was taken under the wing of Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala in February 2023. where he underwent surgery in Mumbai. Pant sometime back thanked the doctors for their help and was indebted to them for giving him a second birth after the unfortunate incident took place. Pant did not feature in the World Test Championship final where Australia hammered India by 209 runs.

When it comes to Test Cricket, the left-hander has scored 2271 runs at an average of 43.67 and at a strike rate of 73.63. He has hit five centuries and 11 fifties. The 25-year-old has smashed centuries in England and Australia. There were some reports circulating that Pant could make it to the ODI World Cup squad but then it was seen as not possible.

During the 2023 edition of the IPL, the Delhi Capitals (DC) has Pant's jersey hung in their dugout as a tribute to him. Pant had also come down and watched a few of DC's games at the Arun Jaitley Stadium which is the home ground of the franchise. DC had a season to forget as they had only five wins from fourteen games and finished ninth on the points table.
