‘Yeh kitna dhoni dhoni karta rehta hai be?’ - Fans accuse Suresh Raina of exaggerated praising of MS Dhoni

Suresh Raina has been a great player for team India all over the years. Along with it, he was an instrumental part of the Chennai franchise in the history of the Indian T20 League. However, on both occasions, he enjoyed the majority of his playing days under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.  Even fans know the bond these players share between them on and off the field.

MS Dhoni took retirement from international cricket on 15 August 2022. Even, Suresh Raina took retirement from international cricket also on the same day. However, he took retirement from all forms of cricket in 2022. Now, in a recent interview on JioCinema, Raina came up with praise of Dhoni.

"MS Dhoni brings a lot of positivity. There's no bigger player than him.” - Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina said: "MS Dhoni brings a lot of positivity. There's no bigger player than him. He's world's best finisher. The way he gets the best out of any player, it's the most beautiful thing about him". However, fans claimed that it was quite exaggerated and Raina always speaks about the former team India skipper being in the limelight.

Recently while speaking to Sports Tak, Raina said that he played for Dhoni first, and then, he represented the country. He said: “We played so many matches together. I was fortunate to play with him for India, and with Chennai. We got a lot of love. I’ve come from Ghaziabad, Dhoni from Ranchi. I played for MS Dhoni, then I played for the country. That’s the connection. We’ve played so many finals, we won the World Cup. He’s a great leader and a great human being,”.

Suresh Raina was an important part of team India in 2011 that won the ODI World Cup at home under MS Dhoni’s captaincy. Speaking about Raina’s international career, he played 322 matches and scored 7988 runs, including seven centuries and 48 fifties across all three formats.
