The 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) final between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT), which was scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, was postponed to the next day, or on Monday, because of the persistent rain.

CSK has won the tournament four times, making them the most successful team in IPL history. In addition to having the greatest experience in the sport, they also have several players of the highest caliber, including MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Ravindra Jadeja.

The defending champions, GT, are attempting to make history by winning back-to-back IPL championships. They have a dynamic young team, captained by Rashid Khan and Hardik Pandya. It will be intriguing to watch who wins the match, which is guaranteed to be a thrilling encounter.

The IPL 2023 Final reserve day, Monday, saw a sunny morning despite weather forecasts suggesting chances to rain later in the day. "Let me end the confusion. There is a reserve day tomorrow. Unlike last year, a reserve day is not guaranteed only when a match starts, and the result isn’t determined on the day. This year, if the final cannot be completed or doesn’t take place at all on Sunday (May 28), we will have the contest on Monday," a source said on Sunday.

The rule also holds for the Reserve Day when taking into account the Super Over. The outfield and pitch must be ready for a Super Over by 1.20 AM IST at the latest. The team that placed higher in the points standings after 70 games will receive the IPL trophy if the Reserve Day is also postponed due to inclement weather.

It should be mentioned that rain also caused a little delay in the second qualifier of IPL 2023 on Friday. The five-time champion Mumbai Indians were defeated by Hardik Pandya's squad by a margin of 62 runs, and fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium were able to watch the entire match as they advanced to their second straight final.
