‘Yeh Chika kiu firki le raha hai’ - Fans slam Kris Srikkanth for taking brutal dig at Rohit Sharma for his failure against CSK in IPL 2023

Mumbai Indians (MI) were in action on 6 May 2023 as they took on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk Stadium in the ongoing IPL. However, CSK managed a convincing over Rohit Sharma and his men. MI suffered a batting collapse and scored just 139 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. In reply, CSK chased down the target with ease with 14 balls and four wickets to spare.

But, despite the loss, MI fans were more unhappy with the performance of Rohit Sharma with the bat. Fans were hoping him to score big but Rohit managed a three-ball duck only. Thus, it was the second consecutive duck this season. He even became the player with the most ducks (16) in the history of IPL.

However, the way of his dismissal was not so good also. After this failure, he has now scored 184 runs in 10 matches, at an average of 18.40. During his dismissal, the former Team India cricketer, Kris Srikkanth was doing the commentary and he came up with a brutal dig at the MI skipper. He claimed: "Rohit Sharma should change his name to ‘NO HIT SHARMA’, I will not even play him in XI if I was Captain of MI." Listening to that, fans went crazy and they slammed the former player on social media.

However, Rohit’s form has become a concern for everyone as he will lead Team India in the upcoming WTC final against Australia, starting from 7-11 June 2023. Regarding that, another former cricketer, Sunil Gavaskar also came up with a suggestion for him. While talking to StarSports, he said: "I would say that Rohit should maybe take a break for the time being, and keep himself fit for the World Test Championship Final. He can come back again for the last few matches, but right now, take a little bit of a breather himself.” 

“It just doesn’t seem as if he is in the game. I may be completely wrong, but the shot he played wasn’t a captain’s shot. A captain repairs the innings knowing that the team is in trouble, plays a decent knock and gets the team to a good total. Two wickets gone for not too many in the power-play and you are not in form," he further added.

Srikanth i have one request for you, if rohit performs same as ipl in international too, then you can say above statement. Passing judgement on ipl performance that too knowing rohit haven't performed in ipl since 2017, in contrast his international record is very good. Shame
