Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir often remains in headlines for his controversial statements and his on-field aggression. Gambhir was recently involved in a heated argument with former Indian captain Virat Kohli during a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 which remained a hot topic for many days.

Gambhir is once again in discussions these days, although the reason for this is not any controversy but his generosity. Former Indian cricketer Rahul Sharma has expressed his gratitude to former India batsman Gautam Gambhir for his help in treating his ailing mother-in-law. 

Rahul's mother-in-law was suffering from a brain haemorrhage and her condition was critical. The former spinner shared that it was Gambhir, who came to his rescue during crucial times. He further added that the 2011 World Cup-winning batter provided the best neurologist with the help of his personal assistant Gaurav Arora and got his mother-in-law admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi.

Rahul said the surgery was successful and thanked everyone involved in helping him during the sensitive phase. Rahul shared heart-touching pictures of his mother-in-law after the successful surgery on his Twitter handle.

“She was in critical condition. Thank you Gautam Gambhir paji & (his PA Gaurav Arora) who helped me in such a difficult time, & he provided the best neurologist and hospital in a short time. Surgery has been done successfully,” Rahul tweeted

“Now she is absolutely fine & thanks to Gangaram Hospital & their staff for excellent care. Special thanks to Dr Manish Chugh, your compassionate treatment is miraculous,” he added.

At present, Gambhir is with LSG as the mentor of the franchise in the ongoing IPL 2023. Speaking about their campaign, Lucknow have played 11 games and are placed third on the IPL points table with 11 points and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.294. However, they recently suffered a huge when their skipper KL Rahul got injured and was ruled out of the tournament.
