The Indian cricket team will be touring West Indies for 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is series after a month gap from the cricket action. They suffered a heartbreaking loss in the WTC 2023 final against Australia but are all set to get back to the rhythm with the aim to clean sweep the Test series. The squad for Test and ODI series is already announced.

But the squad for the T20I series, which will be followed by the 2 Test and 3 ODIs matches, is yet to be declared and it is believed that all-rounder Hardik Pandya might be leading the side if the selectors decide to give rest to Rohit Sharma. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star batter Rinku Sharma is likely to get picked up for the T20I series.

Rinku's exceptional performance in IPL 2023

The 25-year-old left-handed batter was phenomenal during the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). He played 14 matches in the 16th edition of the tournament and smashed 474 runs at an average of 59.25, that too while coming down the order. He also smashed 4 half-centuries as well with a tremendous strike rate of almost 150. In addition to his brilliant batting form, Rinku is also one of the most athletic fielders in the country which adds an extra perk to it.

Rinku also has a great record in first-class cricket as in 40 matches he has scored 2875 runs at an average of almost 60. The Indian selection committee has included some new faces in the Indian Test squad for the upcoming Windies tour. Rinku could’ve also been considered by the selectors after his brilliant stats in FC cricket.
