The scenes were not pleasing during the press conference of Pakistan skipper Babar Azam in the aftermath of the first Test against New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi. Shoaib Jatt, sports journalist and anchor at Pakistan news channel ARY news happened to go impatient on the national team’s skipper as the latter ignored his question.

It all happened when Babar was about to leave the press conference after replying to a question of journalist. Subsequently, Shoaib Jatt lost his cool and said to Babar:

“Ye koi tareeka nahi hain, yaha sawaal ke lie aapko ishaare kar rahe hain (This is not the way, I'm making repeated gestures to ask a question),” Shoaib was heard saying to Babar Azam.

This intense tone from the journalist didn’t go down well with the Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and he furiously stared at the former.

A user shared the video on the micro-blogging site Twitter and captioned it as, “Babar made sure Shoaib jutt realizes he's heard and ignored.”

The video of this unpleasant incident at the press conference is now making rounds on the internet. The Pakistan cricket fans and journalism fraternity have also come up with various divided options.

Furthermore, the journalist fell prey to harsh criticism and trolls on social media for his gestures and way of talking with Babar Azam. But amidst all this, a senior media person from Pakistan, Omar R Qureshi extended his support to Shoaib Jatt in the aftermath of this incident.

“A journalist’s especially a reporter’s job is to ask questions - have known Shoaib Jatt from the time he was with Samaa TV and I was heading  Samaa news online and digital and always thought he was an excellent and enterprising reporter - and still is,” tweeted Omar R Qureshi.

To which Shoaib replied with his gratitude and wrote, "Thanks for your kind words sir, Social media doesn't know what happened there."
