Ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup, India is headed in the right direction after dominating the shorter format. They won the 2025 Asia Cup and went undefeated.

Seven games were won by the Men in Blue, including the final victory over Pakistan. They continued to build momentum when they faced Australia in the Twenty20 International series. India prevailed 2-1 in the five-match series.

They have two more T20I series at home against South Africa and New Zealand prior to the 2026 T20 World Cup. For the major competition, they will be eager to win as many games as possible and perfect their combination.

He selected a 15-person team for the Men in Blue. Abhishek Sharma and vice-captain Shubman Gill were Aakash Chopra's openers. Then he selected Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson as wicketkeepers, along with captain Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma.

Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, and Hardik Pandya were the four all-rounders that the former batter used. He then selected Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav to be his two spinners. Lastly, he finished the team with three fast bowlers: Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Jasprit Bumrah.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, a star batsman, was left out by the former batter. He did, however, hope that the left-hander would actually make the squad. He was unable to squeeze Jaiswal into the 15-person team, despite his desire to include him.
