India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal opened up about his snub from Indian T20I team for the Australian tour. Jaiswal has made it into the Indian ODI team for the Australian tour, but has been consistently snubbed from T20Is, including the recent Asia Cup 2025.
The 23-year-old, who made his international debut in 2023, has already established a solid reputation with great performances in both Test cricket and the Indian Premier League.
Despite his consistency, Jaiswal was left out of the national team's plans for the shortest format. The young batter recently discussed the topic on a podcast with Raj Shamani, sharing how he copes with such disappointments.
“It’s not my decision, and it’s out of my control. There’s no point thinking about things that aren’t in my hands. I prefer to focus on improving what I can control. I try to live in the present and believe that whatever happens, happens for good. Whatever is written in my fate, no one can take it from me. And whatever isn’t meant for me, no one can give it,” Jaiswal said on Raj Shamani podcast.
So far, Jaiswal has played 23 T20 internationals so far, scoring 723 runs at an average of 36.15 and an impressive strike rate of 164.31, including one century to his name. In the IPL 2025 season, he also fared admirably, amassing 559 runs in 14 matches with a strike rate of 159.71, demonstrating his ability to dominate the shorter format. Jaiswal last played for India in the Twenty20 Internationals against Sri Lanka in 2024.
