Thakur also scored 51 runs off 109 balls, including six fours.

Along with him, Mitchell Starc, Cameron Green, and Boland took two wickets each. Nathan Lyon got one wicket. For Australia, David Warner and Usman Khawaja came out to bat. However, Mohammed Siraj once again provided an early breakthrough to his team as Warner got out on just one run.
Then, Khawaja was looking to get settled but he also failed for 13 runs off 39 balls. Then, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith put up a partnership of 62 runs for the third wicket. Ravindra Jadeja came and took the wicket of Smith as he scored 34 runs off 47 balls, including three fours. Then, he struck again as Head got out on 18 runs off 27 balls. Thus, Jadeja sent back both the centurions from the first innings. However, they finished the day with a score of 123 runs for four wickets and a lead of 296 runs.
