The Indian cricket team is gearing up for a thrilling affair as they will square off against New Zealand in the final of the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship. The WTC final is scheduled to be played from June 18 to June 22 at the Southampton. Entering the contest, the Blackcaps will be at a major advantage as they featured in the just-concluded two-match Test series against England.

With the final just four days away, India is also trying to get back to the rhythm by hosting practice games. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have been regularly sharing the scores of the practice games. The first two days of the practice match saw players including the likes of KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rishabh Pant making headlines due to their blistering performance with the willow.

Pacers Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Siraj were among the wickets, staking a claim in the final XI. On the third day, BCCI again shared an update regarding the practice game. However this time, instead of sharing the scores, BCCI posted a video where Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Ravindra Jadeja can be seen playing some pleasant shots.

Towards the end of the clip, one thing that attracted the attention of many cricket fans was Shardul Thakur. While all the players were chilling out after the game, Thakur went straight to the nets to work harder. Though the pacer has been working hard to make a case for himself to be included in the Playing XI for WTC, his selection remains doubtful as India has a plenty of fast bowlers at their disposal.
