According to the ICC, the prize pool for the WTC 2023-25 Final is an astounding USD 5.76 million (Rs 49.27 crore), more than twice as much as the previous two editions.

According to an ICC statement, the winners will get USD 3.6 million, a substantial increase over the USD 1.6 million given in 2021 and 2023, and the runners-up will receive USD 2.16 million, an increase from USD 800,000.

After drawing a home series against India and winning a series against Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies, South Africa became the first team to guarantee a position in the final.

South Africa and Australia, the reigning champions, will compete in their first WTC final. After winning seven straight Test matches, South Africa surpassed at least four other teams to take the top spot in the 2023–25 WTC cycle.

After defeating two-time finalists India in the 2023 final at The Oval, Australia is currently the reigning champions. The WTC 2025 final is set to be played at the historic venue Lord's from June 11 onwards.

In comparison to the previous two editions, the prize money for the 2025 winners has more than doubled, rising from US$1.6 million to $3.6 million. This time, the 2025 runners-up will receive $2.1 million, up from $800,000 in the previous two years.

In a press statement last month, the ICC said that the increase in prize money was an attempt "to prioritize Test cricket."
