India tied their five-match Test series against England 2-2 on Monday, kicking off their World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 cycle on a high note. India won the second of five Test matches in Birmingham and then went on to win for the second time with an exciting six-run triumph at The Oval.

Shubman Gill set the standard by hitting 754 runs in five games, hitting four centuries, including a double century, while serving as the Test team's first captain and without players like Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Rohit Sharma in the dressing room. His teammates provided him with excellent support and stepped up to create an incredible Test cricket spectacle.

What are the remaining Test Series for India in this WTC cycle?

India’s next Test assignment will be in October when they host the West Indies for a two-match series. Ahmedabad will host the first test from October 2 to 6, and Delhi will host the second test from October 10 to 14. Early in the cycle, these games are anticipated to be vital in helping India establish their position on the WTC points table.

India will have the home advantage in 2025, as after the West Indies, they will host current WTC champions South Africa for two tests. The series begins in Kolkata on November 14 and travels to Guwahati on November 22. Since these will be India's last red-ball matches of 2025, the squad will have plenty of time to evaluate their WTC development before the new season starts.

In 2026, the first Test assignment for India will be a one-off Test against Afghanistan to be played in June, with the dates and venue to be decided.

The most testing phase for India in WTC 2025-27 will come when they travel overseas. India will first travel to Sri Lanka for two tests in August 2026, with venues and dates to be decided later. India will then travel to New Zealand for two tests as well, with dates and venues yet to be decided.

A thrilling five-match home series against Australia, beginning in January 2027, marks the conclusion of India's WTC 2025–27 calendar. India's hopes of making it to the WTC Final at Lord's in mid-2027 will probably depend on this.
