The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 schedule, which runs from January 9 to February 5, was revealed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday.
The season begins with a thrilling match between the reigning champions Mumbai Indians (MI), and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Navi Mumbai. The 11 matches in the Navi Mumbai leg, which takes place from January 9 to 17, should set the stage for an intriguing edition. The league then moves to Vadodara, where the final 11 games, including the playoffs, will take place.
The WPL 2026 format is the same as it was for the preceding three seasons. During the league stage, which concludes on February 1, five WPL teams—the Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Giants (GG), and UP Warriorz (UPW)—play two games against one another.
The best team advances straight to the WPL 2026 final on February 5, while the teams in second and third place compete in the Eliminator on February 3 in an attempt to advance to the summit match.
The two locations for the 28-day competition are Vadodara and Navi Mumbai. The first eleven games, including two doubleheaders, will take place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the location of India's ODI World Cup victory against South Africa in early November. Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara will host the final and the remaining 11 games, including the eliminator on February 3.
In contrast to the previous three seasons, which took place in February–March right before the IPL, this season will see two major firsts for the WPL: it will have a weekday final and be held during the January–February timeframe. This timetable also guarantees that, for the first time, the WPL won't conflict with other significant international events.
