London Spirit and Southern Brave played against each other in the 10th match of The Hundred Men’s Competition. London’s skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and decided to bowl first at the Southampton. Spirit posted a decent total of 147 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 100 balls.

Daniel Bell-Drummond played a match-defining knock for the London Spirit

Batting first, London Spirit didn’t have a good start and lost their four wickets on the score of 70 runs. But the middle-order batter Daniel Bell-Drummond took the charge alongside senior Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. Daniel Bell went on to play a crucial knock of 46 runs off just 33 balls with five boundaries and a six to his name.

On the other hand, Maxwell also scored 34 runs off 21 balls with five boundaries and a six. With the help of these two crucial knocks, London reached a total of 147 runs for the loss of six wickets in the 100 balls.

While chasing the target, Southern Brave lost their first wicket in the form of skipper James Vince even before any run in the account of the team. Ross Whiteley scored a half-century of 52 runs off 33 balls with five boundaries and a six. Alex Davies also provided a contribution of 36 runs off 30 balls with four boundaries and a six. But their knocks went in vain as Brave couldn’t cross the line and lost the match by nine runs and ended up scoring 138 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

Jordan Thompson of London Spirit scalped two wickets for his team. Apart from him, other bowlers also contributed in the win by scalping one-wicket each.
