Indian Test vice captain Ajinkya Rahane is celebrating his 33rd birthday today and the cricket fraternity was not behind in making his special day even more special. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to Twitter and posted a video of Rahane’s gritty 115 run knock against South Africa in 2019 with the caption “Here’s wishing @ajinkyarahane88 – #TeamIndia’s Test vice-captain – a very happy birthday.”

Rahane’s IPL franchise Delhi Capitals also wished their ace player. “A perfectly timed birthday wish for Jinks, just like any of his classy shots. Happy Birthday @ajinkyarahane88”, wrote Delhi Capitals.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli took to his social media accounts to wish his compatriot on his special day. “Happy birthday jinks. Lots of peace, happiness to you and many more memorable partnerships with you.”

Rahane led India to a memorable win over Australia earlier this year. He led the team with the bat and stroked a magnificent hundred in Melbourne to turn the tables in favour of India. He was also hailed for his proactive leadership skills.

Rahane has represented India in 73 Tests, scoring 4583 runs at an impressive average of 41.29 with 12 centuries and 23 half-centuries. While Rahane has surprisingly underperformed in the limited-overs format, he has managed to score 2692 and 375 runs in 90 ODIs and 20 T20Is respectively. Rahane has also led India in five Tests, winning four of them. India have won all three ODIs under Rahane.

Here is how the cricket fraternity celebrated Rahane’s birthday.
