Before the suspension, the last match played was between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dharamsala, which was halted after 10.1 overs of action. Notably, DC handed a debut cap in that match to their 21-year-old all-rounder, Madhav Tiwari. He bowled only one over, conceding 14 runs without taking a wicket.

Who is Madhav Tiwari?

Tiwari honed his skills at Amay Khurasiya’s Cricket Academy and made a mark in several age-group tournaments across Madhya Pradesh. He represented Indore at the Under-15 level before going on to captain the Under-18 team. His standout performances came in the Senior Division MK Bhaya Trophy, where he finished as the leading wicket-taker, underlining his promise as a pace-bowling all-rounder.

Earlier this year, he turned out for Jain Irrigation in the DY Patil T20 Cup 2025. He claimed two wickets at an economy rate of 8.9 and chipped in with 23 runs at a strike rate of 109.5. A flexible middle and lower-order batter, he has been used between positions five and eight, maintaining an overall strike rate close to 170.

Last year, he produced a memorable performance in a domestic match for the Indore Division against Rewa Division, taking a hat-trick and finishing with six wickets. In the PBKS vs DC match, he replaced Vipraj Nigam in the playing XI. Delhi Capitals secured him for ₹40 lakh at the IPL 2025 auction.
