India vs England T20I

After a disappointing Test series in Australia, Team India is set to return to action in the white-ball format. The Men in Blue will face England in a five-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series. These matches will serve as crucial preparation for the upcoming Champions Trophy.

The England tour of India will kick off on 22nd January 2025, with the first T20I scheduled to take place at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The remaining four T20Is will be played in Chennai, Rajkot, Pune, and Mumbai, with the final match of the series set for 2nd February.

The three-match ODI series will begin on 6th February, with matches taking place in Nagpur, Cuttack, and Ahmedabad, with the final ODI scheduled for 12th February in Ahmedabad. India will be led by Suryakumar Yadav in the T20I series, aiming to maintain their dominance in the shortest format of the game. In contrast, veteran skipper Rohit Sharma will take the helm for the 50-over format.

As the current defending T20 World Cup champions, India are expected to perform well in home conditions. However, they will face tough competition from a strong England side. The ODI series also carries added importance for India after their heartbreaking loss in the 2023 ODI World Cup final, where they were defeated by Australia in Ahmedabad.

Fans are hopeful that the team will be more ruthless in the upcoming Champions Trophy and bring the trophy back to India. The last edition of the Champions Trophy, in 2017, saw India as runners-up, where they lost to arch-rivals Pakistan in the final.

One of the key players to watch during this series is Mohammed Shami, who is making his long-awaited comeback from injury. Having proved his fitness in domestic matches, it remains to be seen how he performs in international games.

All five T20Is will be telecast at 7:00 pm IST, while the three ODIs will be broadcast at 1:30 pm IST. Sports 18 network will be the primary broadcast channel for both series in India, and all matches will also be available on the JioCinema app and website.
