Former Indian skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli is consistently going through downs for the last couple of years in international cricket. He is struggling for his 71st international century since the last one he scored against Bangladesh in a Test match three years back in 2019. Recently, he also failed in the last series he played for India against England.

Due to his poor form, Kohli is also on the receiving end of criticism from the experts and the fans as well. Finally, the 33-year-old has come up with a reply to all his critiques in a single remark during a recent interview with the Hindustan Times.

“I know where my game stands and you cannot run this far in your international career without having the ability to counter situations and counter conditions and counter different kinds of bowling,” said Kohli while speaking to Hindustan Times.

“So, this for me is an easier phase to process, but I don’t want to put this phase behind me. I want to learn from it and I want to understand what are the core values that I have as a sportsperson and as a human being. As long as I’m ticking those boxes, I know there are ups and downs, and when I come out of this phase, I know how consistent I can be. My experiences are sacred to me. Whatever I have experienced in this phase or in the past, as well one thing that I can vouch for is that I have never valued myself more as a person,” he added later.

Notably, Virat Kohli will be in action during the Asia Cup 2022. India will start their campaign in the tournament against the arch-rivals Pakistan on the 28th of August. Kohli was on rest from international cricket for almost last one month.
