India took a 3-1 series lead after defeating West Indies by 49 runs in the fourth T20I of their ongoing series. India has already won the five-match series with one game remaining. A huge credit for their win in the last match goes to their star batter, Rishabh Pant. He played a brilliant knock of 44 runs in 31 balls to take his team to a total of 191 runs in the first innings.
When batting, Pant, the top Indian run-getter, never experienced a dull moment, much like his effervescent presence behind the wickets. The India dasher is well-known for his one-handed sixes and falling sweep-shots, but he has now served up a brand-new shot: an amazing slap shot against a wide-length delivery. Against the home team, he batted unconventionally and drove Obed McCoy over extra cover.
This brilliant shot set Twitter abuzz as they were in awe of the cricketer. "Some shot that only @RishabhPant17 can play," a fan rightly wrote. "What do you call that now from Rishabh Pant? The yoga shot!?" another fan hilariously tweeted.
As for the match, Pant was the highest scorer in the first innings. Rohit Sharma, the captain, scored 33 off 16 deliveries and provided India with a good start. With the help of these performances, India set a huge target of 192 runs for the home team.
The difficulty of the Windies' chase was inevitable, and it was evident in their score. The innings' top run scorers were Pooran and Rovman Powell, who both scored 24 runs. Arshdeep Singh took three wickets for India, which helped them bowl out West Indies for 132 runs. Avesh Khan, Axar Patel, and Ravi Bishnoi also had a great time, with each taking two wickets in the game.
India eventually defeated the opposition by an enormous score of 59 runs. The final match of the series will take place at the same venue, Central Broward Park in Lauderhill, Florida.
