India cricketer Rinku Singh was in the news recently for being appointed the District Basic Education Officer by the UP government. He was honoured with the role for his contribution to Indian cricket so far in his career. He recently got engaged to Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj as well.

As far as his appointment as the District BSA is concerned, the state government did it under the International Medalist Direct Recruitment Rules 2022. His appointment aligns with a state policy aimed at providing government jobs to renowned athletes at the international level. Rinku will take on the Group A gazetted post of BSA in the UP government, which is also a significant and responsible role within the education department.

The starting salary of a District Basic Education Officer is Rs 56,100 per month, and it increases with experience and increments annually. The salary could reach up to Rs 1,77,000. At the same time, the officer also gets additional allowances that include 46% Dearness allowance, House Rent allowance, Travel allowance, medical and children’s education allowances. 

Overall, one can say that the monthly salary of a District Basic Education Officer, including all the allowances, ranges from Rs 70000 to Rs 90000, and it increases over time with experience.
