What does BASRA mean in Indian T20 League?

Meanwhile, two newly-introduced teams, Gujarat and Lucknow have also impressed one and all with their heart-warming performances. Gujarat are currently at number two and are unbeaten in the competition so far. On the other hand, Lucknow find themselves at number four with three wins in four matches and, thus, are placed at number four on the table.

For those of you who don’t know the meaning of BASRA, it stands for Batting Average and Strike Rate Aggregate. To simply it further, BASRA= Batting Average+ Strike Rate.

As per the latest BASRA stat produced during the coverage, Andre Russell tops the list of best BASRA in the history of the Indian T20 league with an aggregate of 209.6, followed by the likes of AB de Villiers (191), Chris Gayle (188) and Jos Buttler (186).

Five active players, including Jos Buttler (186), KL Rahul (182), Rishabh Pant (182), David Warner (181), and Hardik Pandya (179) also find themselves in the list of top nine players.

At present, Rajasthan are locking horns with Lucknow in the 20th match of the Indian T20 League. Batting first, they have managed to score 165 runs in the first innings. Shimron Hetmyer starred with the bat as he played an unbeaten 59-run knock off 36 balls, a knock which was laced with 1 four and as many as 6 sixes. Lucknow need 166 runs runs to wins the match and earn their fourth win of this season.
