After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, it was Mohammed Shami who was absolutely sensational with the new ball. He got his first wicket in the form of Kane Williamson. The Hyderabad captain's poor form continued as he was dismissed for five.

The Indian pacer then got his second wicket during the fifth over of the first innings. The fact that it was in-form Rahul Tripathi was the icing over the cake. However, Hyderabad were still batting positively as they scored 53 runs in the first six overs. Once again, it was Abishek Sharma who played an impressive innings.

He went on to score a superb 65 off 42 balls. Sharma scored six fours and three sixes during his knock. He was well supported by Aiden Markram, who scored a 40-ball 56. Both of them put together a 96-run partnership. Post Markram's dismissal, Nicholas Pooran was quick to follow as he had to depart in the 17th over.

Just when it seemed like the Hyderabad-based franchise would struggle to carry their momentum, Shashank Singh played a gem of a cameo. He scored 25 runs in just six balls. This included three sixes and a four. Thus, the orange army scored 195-6 in the first innings. After which, Gujarat got to an explosive start in the second innings. Wriddhhiman Saha took the aggressive route during the powerplay overs.

However, Shubman Gill struggled to get going, and was eventually dismissed after scoring a 24-ball 22. Nevertheless, Saha continued his mayhem as he got to his half-century as well. The keeper-batter kept Gujarat in the chase. However, Umran Malik was breathing fire. The speedster picked a breathtaking fifer in his full quota of four overs, while giving just 25 runs.

He single-handedly turned the game towards Hyderabad's favour. Moreover, he dismissed the likes of Pandya, David Miller and Saha. While the all-rounder and Proteas batter have been Gujarat's best batters this edition, Saha was at his sublime best during the game. Just when it looked as if Hyderabad would win this game, Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan changed the game in the last few overs. They hit some lusty blows to win the game out of nowhere. As a matter of fact, the Afghan all-rounder scored 18 runs in the last four balls to win the game for his side. At the end, Gujarat won an absolute thriller. Several fans took to Twitter to speak about the game.
