‘Welcome to tuk tuk Academy’ – Fans brutally troll Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan after the duo fail to deliver in 1st T20I against NZ

Both the opening batters went back to the pavilion only on team’s total score of 15 runs.

Shubman Gill

The Indian team went on to perform an experiment in the T20I opening pair by starting the inning with young batters Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan. But the duo failed badly to live up to the expectations and went back to the pavilion only on the team’s total score of 15 runs. Shubman Gill individually added only 7 runs off 6 balls with a boundary whereas, Ishan could score 4 runs off 5 balls with a boundary.

A section of the Indian cricket fans didn’t miss this opportunity to brutally troll both the batters and compared them with the other batters who usually play with a slower strike rate. The fans took to Twitter to make some funny and hilarious comments on the opening pair of Ishan and Shubman and a poor approach in the T20I series opener against New Zealand.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Notably, both Gill and Kishan are the batters who have scored ODI double centuries of late in ODI cricket. But they couldn’t translate a similar form in the first of the three-match T20I series against the Blackcaps.

Earlier, Shubman Gill was adjudged ‘player of the series for his brilliant batting heroics throughout the entire three-match ODI series against Tom Latham’s men. The 23-year-old played the knocks of 208, 40*, and 112 respectively in the three-match ODI series against the visitors.

The Fazilka-born batter also equalized Pakistan skipper Babar Azam’s world record of scoring the highest number of runs in an ODI series of three matches. Both batters have now a score of 360 each in a three-match ODI series.

Speaking of Ishan Kishan, the Jharkhand batter is struggling with a poor run of form in international cricket just after the time when he made his comeback in the Indian team. Notably, he couldn’t make it to the ODI playing XI of India in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka even after scoring an ODI double century against Bangladesh in Chattogram ODI on the 10th of December last month.
