Rishabh Pant is currently recovering from the injuries that he sustained in the road accident in December 2022. As a result, he missed the entire IPL 2023 for Delhi Capitals (DC) and now, he will miss the upcoming World Test Championship final for Team India against Australia, starting from 7 to 11 June 2023.

But, now, a video and some images have come out where Rishabh Pant was seen walking freely in Mumbai airport, wearing only a brace on his right knee. Seeing that, fans became happy and shared their views on social media. However, his absence made a huge difference to DC in IPL 2023.

“We miss him every day, he is the heartbeat of this team.” - Ricky Ponting on Rishabh Pant

They failed to qualify for the playoffs and finished in the ninth spot with 10 points in 14 games. During the tournament, DC coach, Ricky Ponting claimed that the team have been missing him terribly and regarded him as the squad's heartbeat. During a pre-match presser, Ponting said: "What happened to Rishabh was not in our control. We miss him every day, he is the heartbeat of this team. Trying to replace Rishabh is not an easy thing to do."

Speaking of the upcoming WTC final, India are not going to have the services of star players like Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant. Regarding that, in a column for ESPNcricinfo, the former Australia cricketer, Ian Chappell wrote: “The injuries to Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant badly affect India, as they would be outright favourites with these two playing. The somewhat surprising unavailability of allrounder Hardik Pandya also harms India, as he could have provided them with the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle." Rishabh Pant last played for Team India in the two-match Test series in Bangladesh. However, still, there is no certainty of him making a comeback for Team India before the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
