‘We own our Rockstar!’ – Fans overjoyed as Chennai retains Ravindra Jadeja for the next edition of Indian T20 League

The 33-year-old star Indian all-rounder will be seen in action with MS Dhoni-led Chennai during next year’s Indian T20 League.

In what seems to be big news for Ravindra Jadeja fans, the Chennai franchise has retained the 33-year-old star Indian all-rounder. Earlier this year, Chennai management and Jadeja were reported to have alleged rifts. It also got fuelled when Ravindra Jadeja happened to delete his Instagram posts related to Chennai.

Subsequently, the fans were speculating that the Saurashtra all-rounder might cut the threads with Chennai ahead of the next season of the Indian T20 League.

Meanwhile, there came news earlier this month that the Chennai skipper MS Dhoni does not want Jadeja to leave the Chennai squad for the next edition of the cash-rich league.

Now, the official confirmation of Jadeja’s retention has come up as news of joy for the ardent fans of the Indian all-rounder. They took to Twitter for expressing their joy at the news of Jadeja continuing his stint with Chennai in the Indian T20 League.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Notably, Jadeja was appointed as the captain of Chennai at the beginning of the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League after Dhoni stepped down from the role. But the team could win only two matches out of the eight they played under Jadeja’s captaincy. Reacting to the situation further, Jadeja handed over the captaincy once again to MS Dhoni and continued as a player with the team.

But later on, Jadeja couldn’t play in some of the matches of the Indian T20 League which led to rumors and speculations of the reported rifts between him and Chennai.

Although now everything is looking fine between the 2013 Champions Trophy winner Indian all-rounder and MS Dhoni-led Chennai.

Apart from the Indian T20 League, Jadeja was also out of international cricket as he sustained a knee injury during the Asia Cup 2022. Furthermore, he was ruled out of the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
