Former legendary West Indies cricketer Clive Lloyd has stated that all aspects of West Indies cricket, including grassroots and the international level, need to be examined after he was invited to be a part of the emergency meeting by the Cricket West Indies President Dr Kishore Shallow.

Notably, the emergency meeting has been scheduled after the West Indies were bowled out for 27 runs in the second innings of the pink ball Test against Australia, one run short of equalling the lowest-ever Test total of 26 by New Zealand in 1955.

It’s important to note that Lloyd will be the extended invite alongside two legendary cricketers, Viv Richards and Brian Lara. Lloyd asserted that he would always be available to help the Caribbean cricket team, particularly in the Test match batting.

"We have to examine all aspects of West Indies cricket from grassroots to the international level. Everything must be looked at closely and carefully. West Indies cricket is an institution. It has given so much to the people of this region and we must do all we can to revive it,” Lloyd said in a statement provided to ESPNcricinfo.

"I'm always available to help in any way. How we can marry the ideas we have with what is necessary and have healthy discussion on the way we move forward, that's what I'm thinking. It has been nearly 100 years since we have been playing top-class [Test] cricket and we have to get it right,” he added.

Brandon King, who made his Test debut in Barbados, was the only West Indies batter aside from Anderson Phillip to average over 20 against Australia and his 75 in Grenada was the highest individual score from either side.

While the Caribbean bowlers created a significant impact throughout the three-match Test series as none of the Australian batters scored a century, West Indies batters failed to live up to the expectations as they staged major collapses in all six innings of the Test series.

It’s worth noting that the West Indies national Test team finished in eighth place in all three editions of the World Test Championship, highlighting their struggle in the longest format of the game.
