Former South African pacer Wayne Parnell has named his all-time best T20 XI in an exclusive conversation with the cricket.com YouTube channel. He went ahead with former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, as his team’s captain.

He started off his all-time T20 XI with the opening pair of Chris Gayle and Rohit Sharma. While Gayle leads the run-scoring charts with a whopping 14,562 runs from 463 T20 games, Rohit has accumulated 12248 runs from 463 T20s so far.

Subsequently, Parnell also picked former RCB skipper Virat Kohli at No. 3 and later picked up his former South African teammate AB de Villiers at No. 4. The West Indies all-rounders Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell are occupying the No. 5 and No. 6 positions.

Notably, Pollard is the second-leading run-scorer in T20 cricket, accumulating 14145 runs from 716 T20s at an average of 31.85. On the other hand, Russell amassed 9413 runs from 570 T20s at an average of 26.36. While Pollard racked up 332 wickets, Russell has pocketed 494 wickets.

Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo is also part of Parnell’s XI. Importantly, Bravo has scalped 631 wickets in 582 matches and has also scored nearly 7000 runs. Moving forward, Parnell picked Rashid Khan as the lone spinner in the lineup. It’s worth noting that Rashid is the leading wicket-taker in T20s with 666 wickets from 490 matches. 

Moving further, Parnell concluded his all-time T20 XI with star pacers Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah, who played a pivotal role in the Mumbai Indians’ success in IPL history. While Boult scalped 329 wickets from 282 T20s, Bumrah pocketed 313 wickets from 245 matches.
