Ravindra Jadeja is out of action at present due to a knee injury. The great all-rounder underwent surgery and is recovering well at the moment. The Gujarat-born has been an integral part of team India for a long time now and his stature in recent years has increased to a greater level.

If one has to find the reason behind his exemplary performances, one has to go back to Sanjay Manjrekar’s ‘bits and pieces’ comment. The commentator called the Indian great a ‘bits and pieces’ player in 2019 and since then, the all-rounder has been replying with his bat and ball.

However, Ravindra Jadeja took to Twitter to post an image of Sanjay Manjekar with a friendly caption. Posting an image of the commentator doing the presentation during a Legends League Cricket match, Ravindra Jadeja called the commentator, 'his friend'.

“Watching my dear friend on screen @sanjaymanjrekar,” he captioned the image.

Needless to say, Ravindra Jadeja is an exceptional fielder and he has been the one who has been inspiring the team. Albeit he did well prior to Sanjay Manjrekar’s comment, Jadeja started replying with the bat from 2019 onwards. His valiant inning in the semi-final of the 2019 50-over World Cup against New Zealand is a prime example of it.

Sanjay Manjrekar’s reply to Ravindra Jadeja

Taken by surprise, Sanjay Manjrekar replied to the post and hoped for the return of the 33-year-old. The former Indian cricketer also called Ravindra Jadeja ‘a friend’. “Ha ha… and your dear friend looking forward to seeing you on the field soon,” the former cricketer replied to Ravindra Jadeja’s tweet.

For the unversed, not very long ago, Sanjay Manjrekar asked Ravindra Jadeja if it was okay for the latter to have a conversation during the Asia Cup 2022. The Indian all-rounder replied positively saying that he had no issues with the same.

“Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and I am still playing. Learn to respect people who have achieved. I have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea,” Ravindra Jadeja had replied earlier to the former cricketer’s ‘bits and pieces’ comment.

However, things look good for now and one must hope that the duo will carry on with the friendship and forget the past.
