Virat Kohli began the tournament against Pakistan at Pallekele where he was out for just four runs. The 34-year-old did not get to bat in the game against Nepal, which India won by ten wickets.

The moment that every fan waited for came in the Super-4 game against Pakistan at Colombo. Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 122 to notch up his 47th ODI century. This ton put him just two behind Sachin Tendulkar who has 49 ODI tons. Virat Kohli also became the fastest batter to reach 13,000 ODI runs.

India gave debut to Tilak Varma as he was handed the cap by skipper Rohit Sharma. The young left-hander has been one of the most talked about players. Tilak Varma isn’t part of the World Cup that was announced recently.

Another player who made his comeback to the team was Prasidh Krishna. The right-arm fast bowler last played for India against Zimbabwe in August 2022. Since then he had been hampered by injuries.

Mohammad Shami and Shardul Thakur also got a look into the team while Surya Kumar Yadav also made it to the XI. India will play Sri Lanka in the finals on Sunday and one hopes Virat Kohli scores yet another ton.
