Virat Kohli (Source: Twitter)
Virat Kohli is presently taking a bit of a back seat from cricket. Kohli is not a part of the West Indies T20I series and will also not play in the Ireland series which will feature three T20Is. Kohli will play in the Asia Cup which will be held in the ODI format that will be co-hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan. This will be a great time for the Indian team to finalise their squad ahead of the World Cup.
Kohli recently had a weird experience with a fan who had met him and asked for a selfie. Because of Virat's hectic schedule, he could not cater to the fan's request but he said he will pose for a selfie with the fan next time. Kohli has great fandom and a fan following. The fact that he said he will pose for a selfie with the fan another time highlights his humility.

India last won the ODI World Cup in 2011
Ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup, the Indian Team management is taking workload management into account. Kohli and Rohit Sharma did not play the last two ODIs against West Indies. The duo are not part of the T20Is against West Indies and Ireland. Kohli has been in good form recently. In the recent Test series against West Indies, he scored his 29th Test ton.
The Delhi-born batter will be one of the mainstays in India's batting lineup come the 2023 ODI World Cup. Kohli has been there and done it before albeit as a youngster in the 2011 World Cup. The 24-year-old scored some crucial half-centuries then and also made a valuable 35 in the World Cup final against Sri Lanka in the final in Mumbai.
The Men in Blue will want to create history in front of home fans and try and create history again like they did in 2011. This will be the fourth time the ODI World Cup will be hosted in India. India will be the sole host this time.
