India and Bangladesh are locking horns in the first of the two-match Test series. Both teams are playing this series opener at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Currently, the hosts are chasing the target of 513 runs in the fourth innings of the match. Notably, they have lost three wickets during the run chase.
Apart from the other two wickets, the first wicket of the Bangla side was quite a bit special for the visitors as it came after a 124-run stand between the openers Najmul Hasan Shanto and debutant Zakir Hasan. It also witnessed the brilliant reflexes from the star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant covering the fumble of Virat Kohli, who was standing in the first slip.
This wicket came for India on the first ball of the 47th over when senior pacer Umesh Yadav was bowling to Shanto. The latter ended up getting the leading edge of the bat and the ball went toward Kohli in the first slip. Unfortunately, the 34-year-old missed it and the ball deflected towards Keeper Rishabh Pant who made no mistake in carrying the ball and provided the first breakthrough for India.
