In a major piece of update, the Indian cricket Board President, Sourav Ganguly has said the reports which are claiming Bumrah’s exclusion from the World Cup 2022 are not true. There were few reports on Thursday where it was claimed that Bumrah is reportedly ruled out of the 20-20 World Cup. But recently, Ganguly went on clear that the 28-year-old is still expected to fly to Australia.
Ganguly clarified that saying anything at the moment would be too early to judge things. He also cleared the air on the update on the injury.

On Thursday, a report flashed in the media that claimed that Bumrah might not be available to play for the national side of India for the next couple of months. Notably, the Ahmedabad-born pacer had to miss the Asia Cup 2022 due to the same injury. Although, he made a comeback against Australia but could play only one match.

Bumrah was also in the plans of India for the ongoing three-match T20I series against South Africa. It is also the last bilateral assignment for the Indian team ahead of the marquee tournament. Indian cricket fans including the management are hoping for Bumrah’s much-anticipated recovery.
Bumrah is a part of India’s pace attack which includes the likes of senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, and Harshal Patel. Interestingly, the Indian management has also kept senior pacers Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar on the standby list for the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
The men in blue will begin their campaign in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 with their first match against the arch-rivals Pakistan.
