After getting a good start in the Indian T20 League 2022 for Gujarat, Shubman Gill’s performances in the last few matches have seen a dip. On Tuesday, he, once again, got out in the ongoing match between Gujarat and Punjab. Unfortunately, Gill got out run-out on the first ball of the third over of the match. He was dismissed after scoring just 9 runs in 6 balls. He looked in great touch as he got off the mark with a boundary.

However, unfortunately, his stay at the crease was ended via a bullet throw from Rishi Dhawan. The Punjab all-rounder who was fielding inside the 30-yard circle at the cover region hit the target despite having just one stump to aim at. Gill, however, after getting run-out was fuming at Sandeep Sharma as he thought that the Punjab bowler came his way while the opener was completing the run.

However, after looking at the replays, it was found out that Sharma didn’t move at all in his follow-through and was just standing his ground. You can see the clip here.

With that, Shubman Gill’s batting woes this season continue. His runs in the last five matches read 8, 31, 22, 7, and 0. Overall, he has managed to score 260 runs in 9 matches at an average of 33.25.

Meanwhile, Gujarat have managed to score 143 at the end of the first innings in the ongoing match against Punjab. They didn’t make a great start as both the openers were sent back to the hut inside the first four overs. Skipper Hardik Pandya too got out after scoring just 1 run in 7 balls. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals, however, Sai Sudharsan held firm at one end.

He played a stellar knock of 65 runs in 50 balls, including 5 fours and 1 six. His knock helped the team reach a competitive score on the board. At the time of writing, Punjab are 18 for 1 in 3 overs.
