Former legendary Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akthar is once again in the headlines over social media. But this time the reason is none other than the senior Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah. For the unversed, Bumrah has been reportedly ruled out of the upcoming 20-20 World Cup 2022. It is because the 28-year-old has sustained a fracture in his back.

The media reports have learned that it might take 4-6 weeks for the speedster to recover from the injury. It is likely to cost him a place in the Indian squad for the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
Coming back to the Pakistani legend Shoaib Akhtar, then he predicted the injury of Bumrah a year back when he was in a conversation with the renowned Indian sports journalist. Akhtar talked about the action of Bumrah which is vulnerable for him and makes him more prone to injuries.

He has no compensation due to the whole pressure on his back - Shoaib Akhtar on Jasprit Bumrah
“He (Bumrah) has a frontal action which relies completely on the back, we regular pacers go sideways in action which is like compensation for us. But he has no compensation due to the whole pressure on his back. I’ve said it numerous times that Indian management needs to work on the roaster of Bumrah because you can’t consume him in all formats. If it goes the same way then it will surely result in an injury a year from now,” said Akhtar during a conversation with AAJ TAK.
Later on, the fastest bowler in the history of cricket also talked about the pacers who had similar actions to that of Bumrah.
“I have seen a lot of bowlers who had a frontal action and they didn’t go much longer in the international circuit due to their vulnerability of being injured. Shane bond is one of those examples in the past,” he added later.
