Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson is in the headlines of social media since the time he has been ignored by the Indian selectors from the squad of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. A section of Indian cricket fans is still in angst on the selector for preferring the out-of-form Rishabh Pant in the World Cup squad instead of Samson, who was in a good form with the bat for the last couple of matches.

They took to Twitter for expressing their disappointment with this decision of the management. Although, Samson himself took a step ahead and ended up the whole controversy with his humble statement.

Apart from all this, Sanju Samson has a huge fan base that acknowledges his deliveries for team India. It was visible in the Chepauk Stadium of Chennai when fans started chanting ‘Sanju…Sanju’ just after getting a sight of the 27-year-old. He was there to captain the India-A side in the first unofficial match against New Zealand-A. The video of this grand welcome for Sanju Samson has gone viral on social media within minutes of being shared.

Speaking of the match, then Samson won the toss and asked the visitor to bat first at the turf Chepauk Stadium. Batting first, New Zealand could manage to post a total of 167 runs for the loss of all wickets in 40.2 overs. Micahel Rippon ended up as the highest run-scorer in the inning for the Kiwis. Other than him, number ten batter Joe Walker also score crucial 36 runs to take the team to a respectable total.

Star Indian all-rounder scalped four wickets for India-A by conceding only 32 runs in 8.2 overs. Other than him, Kuldeep Sen also scalped three wickets by conceding 30 runs in seven overs.

While chasing the target, the Indian side easily crossed the line in 31.5 overs and scored 170 runs for the loss of three wickets to win the match by three wickets.
