Watch: Ruturaj Gaikwad’s fiancee hugs MS Dhoni and touches his feet after IPL 2023 Final

On 29 May 2023, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won their fifth IPL title after defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final in Ahmedabad. After that victory, all players were celebrating along with their teammates and family members. Ruturaj Gaikwad was also there along with his fiancee, Utkarsha Pawar.

But, now a video has gone viral where Utkarsha was seen hugging MS Dhoni and taking blessing from him by touching his feet. Seeing that fans have gone crazy as it was a heartwarming gesture towards the CSK skipper. Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 590 runs in 16 matches, at an average of 42.14 and a strike rate of 147.50.

“But the amount of love I have received from CSK fans, it would be a gift for them to play one more season.” - MS Dhoni

After the final, Gaikwad said: “This one was special, because of how it went last year for us. To come back in style, win away games, win in Chepauk, and the finish was unbelievable. We would like to dedicate this win to Rayudu.” It was Ambati Rayudu’s last match as he already announced his decision of taking retirement before the final. In the final, Gaikwad scored 26 runs off 16 balls, including three fours and one six.  

However, after the final, all eyes were on MS Dhoni as he was about to clear the fuss on his retirement plans. During the post-match presentation ceremony, Dhoni said: “If you circumstantially see, it's the best time to announce the retirement. The easy thing for me to say is thank you and retire. But the hard thing to do is to work hard for nine months and try to play one more IPL season. The body has to hold up. But the amount of love I have received from CSK fans, it would be a gift for them to play one more season. The way they've shown their love and emotion, it's something I need to do for them. It's the last part of my career.”
