India and Sri Lanka locked horns with each other in their second match of the super-4 round in the Asia Cup 2022. Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka won the toss and asked the Indians to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Batting first, the men in blue posted a total of 173 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. While chasing the target, the Sri Lankan team managed to cross the line in 19.5 overs to win the match by six wickets.

Other than this, a video has gone viral over social media from the Indian dressing room. It happened when Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed in the 15th over. Everybody was expecting that Rishabh Pant would come to bat for India on number five. But skipper Rohit Sharma had some other plans in his mind.

Talking about the match, then skipper Rohit Sharma ended up as the highest run-scorer for India. He played a knock of 72 runs off 41 balls with five boundaries and four sixes to his name. Other than him, Suryakumar Yadav was the only batter who crossed the mark of 30+ runs with an individual inning of 34 runs off 29 balls.

With the help of these knocks, India managed to post a total of 173 runs losing eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Dilshan Madhushanka scalped three wickets for Sri Lanka.

Chasing the target, Sri Lanka got a very strong start from the opening pair of Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis. They both stitched a partnership of 97 runs for the first wicket in 11.1 overs. Both the openers scored half-centuries with individual scores of 52 and 57 respectively. After these knocks, the finishing inning of 33 runs from the skipper Dasun Shanaka helped the Lankan tigers to win the match on the penultimate ball of the last over.
