On 1 February 2023, India locked horns with New Zealand in the three-match T20I series. It was the third and final match of the series that took place in Ahmedabad. Both teams were looking to win that series decider to win the series. However, India managed an emphatic win and won the series 2-1.


Shubman Gill won the player of the match award for his fantastic knock. However, Rahul Tripathi played a quickfire cameo of 44 runs off 22 balls, at a strike rate of 200. But, during his innings, Rahul hit a ramp shot for a six and that reminded every fan about Suryakumar Yadav. Now, that video has gone viral.

Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the sixth over India’s innings. Rahul Tripathi was batting while Lockie Ferguson was bowling. On the second delivery, Rahul Tripathi hit a four. Then, in the next ball only, he went across early this time and got under a full ball to ramp it with a bit of a flick of the wrists. The ball went over the fine leg and fans were left crazy with the shot.

Generally, Suryakumar Yadav is known for such shots. But, the way Rahul executed it, reminded every fan about the number one ranked batter in the shortest format of the game. Speaking about his inning, Rahul scored 44 runs off 22 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes. In the first two matches, Rahul Tripathi failed miserably despite getting opportunities to bat at the number three position.

So, fans were happy to see him scoring those with such a high strike rate in the last T20I. Speaking of the match, Shubman Gill scored 126* runs off 63 balls as India scored 234 runs off four wickets. In reply, the Kiwis got bundled out for just 66 runs in 12.1 overs. However, skipper Hardik Pandya won the player of the series award.
