Apart from the other brilliant shots during his knock, Gurbaz also attracted the eyeballs for a spectacular six off the veteran pace-bowling all-rounder Andre Russell on the third ball of the fourth over.

It all happened when Russell attempted a length delivery outside the off stump to Gurbaz. The latter made no mistake in using his feet and smashing the ball over the deep mid-wicket for an astonishing 96-meter six. The video of this outstanding six smashed by Gurbaz is making rounds on social media just after being shared at the official Twitter handle of the IL T20.

Later on, while talking about his performance, the wicketkeeper-batter gave due credit for his performance to the coach and management of the Warriors.

“After a few matches where I did not score, it is difficult to come back. I give all the credit to the coaches and the management. They supported me in tough times. Special mention to my coach who gave me the confidence to play my natural game. It is important for my team that I take good decisions behind the stumps as well. I try my level best to do better for my team. I am really enjoying my time here,” said Gurbaz in the post-match presentation.

Apart from that, Warriors’ skipper Joe Denly also praised Gurbaz and Tom Kohler-Codmore after the team registered a win by 4 wickets over Knight Riders.

“I think we contained them well. We started well with the ball and through the middle, we never let them get away from us. A great start by the two (Gurbaz and Kohler-Cadmore) up top. They have gotten us to fliers in most games and they probably killed the game off there. But they have quality bowlers and we certainly made the run-chase interesting. The replacements have added some great strength and depth to the squad,” said Joe Denly during a post-match presentation.
