Pakistan cricket team and captain Babar Azam have come under fire after their disastrous performance in the ODI World Cup in India. The Men in Green had an early exit from the tournament after losing five of their nine league matches. They entered the tournament as one of the favourites but failed to live up to expectations, losing even to arch-rivals India and Afghanistan.

Babar's captaincy has once again come under scrutiny and if reports are to be believed, his ODI captaincy is in jeopardy. At the same time, his batting was also criticised as he failed to play a remarkable innings in the tournament. The former No. 1 ODI batter scored four half-centuries but did not score a single century. Babar has scored 320 runs in 9 matches with a high score of 74.

Amidst all this, Pakistan's all-format captain is not getting support from his own countrymen. During a show, Harna Mana Hai on Geo News, pacer Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Imad Wasim opined that Babar does not deserve a place in Pakistan's T20 squad.

"Babar Azam does not deserve to be in Pakistan's T20I team," said Imad. "I don't think Babar Azam should be part of Pakistan's T20I team," said Amir.

Babar has build his team on his own: Amir

After Pakistan's World Cup upset, there was also criticism of Pakistan's 'system' which prevented players from performing well on the field. However, Aamir feels that the 'system' is not to blame, instead, he questions the captain's mentality.

"Babar is captain for past four years. He has build his team on his own. Buttler is not part of our system, then why did England played so badly? Does the system in England also need a makeover? After 2015 debacle, Morgan said I want to play this brand of cricket, I want these 25 players," Amir continued.

"System remained the same, it is the captain, who changed his mindset. As long as captain's mindset will not change, system can do nothing. Was it the system, who told him not to play Abrar Ahmad, or bench Fakhar after first match," he added.
