Australia Women didn’t have their day on the field against South Africa Women in the second ODI of the three-match series. However, it may not be a day for the Australian team but what attracted the eyeballs of the cricket was the hilarious banter between Aussie skipper Alyssa Healy and her husband, Mitchell Starc, who was also active as a commentator in the Channel 7 commentary booth.

It all happened when Starc interviewed his wife and Aussie skipper, Alyssa Healy on live TV after the end of the first innings when the visitors posted a total of 229 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 45 overs, as the game was reduced due to the rain.

“So, the length of the opening pair there, in (Megan) Schutt and Kimmy Garth, do you reckon they could have bowled a fraction fuller with the help off the wicket?” asked Starc to Healy while starting the interview.

“You got the catchers there for Garth. But, you know, it was holding length and she bowled, really disciplined lines and lengths, but maybe a fraction fuller to get in those edges?” he added later in his question.

“I think if we’re being highly critical” – Alyssa Healy while replying to Mitchell Starc

However, Healy came up with a response in which she took a dig at her husband and said the latter is being ‘over-critical’ of the Aussie bowlers.

“I think if we’re being highly critical, as you’re suggesting, then yes, potentially. Kimmy Garth could have come maybe a fraction fuller, but that is the natural length that she likes to hit. And that’s her role within our team as well, to get the ball moving and keep it tight down that end as well,” replied Healy with a smile on her face; it also made Starc move his hand in the air after listening to his wife’s reply.

“I think Schutt’s length was pretty natural as well. So yes, if we’re being ultracritical, maybe. But in saying that, I think they did a great job to hold as well,” she added later.
