In the meantime, the Pakistan Cricket Board has received criticism for creating a completely flat wicket in Rawalpindi Stadium. There was absolutely no support on the wicket for bowlers. After deciding to bat first, England was able to fully benefit from the circumstances. In the first inning, the team captained by Ben Stokes scored 657 runs, with four batters going for centuries.

Harry Brook, Ollie Pope, Ben Duckett, and Zak Crawley all made centuries in the game. In addition to this, the English team set numerous records, such as the highest score in a single Test match day (506 runs).

Former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar brutally trolled Babar Azam and his team, saying that they scored 500 runs thanks to the fact that the English batters were out with illnesses. If they had been in better shape, they would have made things worse for the hosts.

“Shukar hai abhi England team ki tabiyat kharab hai. Ye tabiyat theek nahi hai to 500 maar diye hai, theek hote to bhut bura haal karte (Pakistan should feel lucky that English players were sick, in their sickness they scored 500. Had they been perfectly fine, they would have thrashed us even badly),” Akhtar said in a video posted on his Twitter handle.
