Watch: Isuru Udana dodges snake on field during B-Love Candy vs Jaffna Kings clash in LPL 2023

On 12 August 2023, B-Love Kandy (BLK) were in action against Jaffna Kings (JK) in Colombo in the 15th match of the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL). Both teams were looking for a win to strengthen their chances for the playoffs. But, it was BLK that did not disappoint their fans ad won the game by eight runs.

But, from that match, a video went viral where a giant snack was seen on the field during JK’s batting. However, the snake was just behind the BLK pacer, Isuru Udana and he was about to step on it because of his unawareness. But, somehow, he noticed and stopped himself from doing that.

Mohammad Haris was adjusted the Player of the Match for his 81-run innings

Speaking of the match. BLK scored 178 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. With the bat, Udana scored just nine runs off six balls. In reply, JK managed to score 170 runs in just 20 overs after 20 overs. Udana took one wicket for 30 runs in four overs. After this win, BLK are now in the second spot with eight points in six games. While JK are in the third spot with six points in seven games. Mohammad Haris won the Player of the Match award for his 81-run knock. He smashed 10 fours and two sixes throughout his innings.   

However, it was not the first time when a snake was seen during a match in this ongoing LPL. On 31 July, during the game between Colombo between Galle Titans (GG) and Dambulla Aura (DA), a snake was seen on the field and as a result, the play got paused for some time. That incident took place after the fourth over of DA’s innings. The snake was seen on the grass and after a little pause, it was helped off the boundary rope as the game resumed. So, fans have found it very strange to see snakes arriving on the field during a match in this edition of the tournament.
