Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers locked horns in the 25th match of the Big Bash League 2022-23. The hosts’ skipper Jimmy Peirson won the toss and decided to bat first at the Brisbane Cricket Ground. Riding on the brilliant knocks of 62 and 84 runs from Josh Brown and Nathan McSweeney respectively, Heat managed to post a mammoth total of 224 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Apart from Heat’s win against Sydney in this match, it was former’s player Michael Neser who attracted the headlines in the 19th over of the second innings.

It all happened when Sydney batter Jordan Silk played an inside-out hit to extra cover, Neser was the man standing near the boundary. He took the catch and went over the fence, tried to throw it back but failed to do so, and then he went over the rope and jumped to take the catch.

After checking the video multiple times, the TV umpire confirmed the decision as OUT, and Silk had to go back to the pavilion. The video of this outstanding catch from Neser is now making rounds on social media and fans are also reacting to the same.

Speaking of the match, The Sydney Sixers started their innings with a strong foundation of 56 runs for the first wicket between wicketkeeper-batter Josh Philippe and James Vince. James Vince and Jordan Silk played the knocks of 41 runs each. But eventually, the visitors could score only 209 runs and fell 16 runs short of the target.

Eventually, the Heat won the match by 14 runs and Josh Brown won the ‘player of the match award for his match-defining performance.
