But, from the game, a video went viral where SFU’s Finn Allen got run out in a bizarre way. The incident took place on the second delivery of SFU’s fourth over. The Kiwi batter went for an easy single by tapping the ball to the leg side. But, his bat got stuck and failed to reach the crease as the ball, thrown by Jayasuriya, hit the stumps. The Kiwi batter was left disappointed and got out for 28 runs off 10 balls, including four fours and two sixes.

Speaking of the match, SEO opted to bat first after winning the toss. They scored 177 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Matthew Wade and Finn Allen scored 28 runs each. Apart from them, Shadan Khan scored 37 runs off 23 balls, including two fours and two sixes. But, other batters failed miserably as they got bundled out for 142 runs in 17.5 overs. Cameron Gannon took four wickets for 23 runs in 3.5 overs for SEO. With this win, SEO are now at the top of the table with four points.

During the post-match presentation, SEO skipper, Wayne Parnell said: “(Most impressive aspect) The fact that we won (smiles). We were a little unsure (about what to do at the toss). We broke the curse yesterday by chasing and winning. It was the fourth game on this wicket and it went a little up and down. Credit goes to the character of this group. It is about keeping things simple and sticking to what has gotten you here. Sometimes, coming to the franchise setup, you want to impress (everyone). For us, it is about gelling and keeping things simple and not complicating them.”
