MS Dhoni is currently away from cricket action, but the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper has no rest from trending on social media. The 42-year-old was last seen on the field in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) final, where CSK defeated Gujarat Titans to lift the coveted title for the fifth time. However, since then, Dhoni has been making headlines for his surprise public appearances and cool hairstyles.

Meanwhile, 'Captain Cool' was recently involved in a ad shoot with director Vignesh Shivan, who is an ardent fan of the former India captain. Shivan, who predominantly works in Tamil industry, got an opportunity to do a commercial with Dhoni amid his upcoming project with Pradeep Ranganathan. 

Dhoni has a massive fanbase all over the world, thanks to the heroic performances he has filed for India and CSK over the years. Shivan is also a huge fan of the former cricketer and he expressed it several times in the past through his Instagram posts. Popular South Indian comedian Yogi Babu is also a part of the comercial. Meanwhile, a short video of the director and actor posing with Dhoni during the shoot is doing the rounds on social media.

Later, on October 17, Shivan took to his official Instagram account to reveal his excitement about directing an ad with Dhoni. "Did Wat I love the most. directing & saying “Action” for my Idol! A Star I love beyond explanation and a role model I really look upto!," he posted.

The director is currently busy with his upcoming film featuring Pradeep Ranganathan. However, not much information about this film has been revealed yet. Shivan's last project was 'Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal' starring Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and his wife Nayanthara.

After a glorious international career, the legendary wicketkeeper batter decided to hang up his blue jersey in August 2020 and now only appears in the IPL. While cars and bikes are Dhoni's second love, Dhoni is also a huge admirer of movies. He even stepped into the film industry by producing his first Tamil film LGM aka 'Let's Get Married' - a lighthearted family drama - which was released in July 2023.
